Choosing between a Trailer and an RV: Which Option Makes More Sense
Are you looking to buy a trailer or RV but you can’t decide? While this seems like a simple decision-making situation, it actually is a hard one considering that both options have their share of benefits and drawbacks. The following are a few thoughts that you can consider before deciding to purchase a trailer.
Do you have a proper vehicle to move it?
Towing a heavy object like a trailer is no simple task. It will takes a lot of force to pull it. If your existing vehicle isn’t capable of producing this towing capacity, you need to purchase a bigger, more powerful one. In that case, you might want to just buy a motorhome instead.
If you decide to just tow a trailer, a pickup truck may be enough to pull it off. Such a vehicle could be a good investment in itself, especially if you will be using it on a regular basis. If you have an existing car and you think you will only need the truck once or twice during summer, buying one to tow the trailer wouldn’t be a practical option. It would be better to have a motorhome sitting on the driveway than a pickup. However, if you are the type that goes camping with the family every weekend, then towing is the way you should go.
